As we are continuing our series through the wonderful epistle of Epistle, we acknowledge the important and often used statement, “God does not called the equipped, He equips the called.” It is God who saves, it is God who calls, and it is God who equips us through His Spirit working in us. Paul wrote at the beginning of 1 Thessalonians 1:5 “For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance.” Believers have no power in of ourselves, but it is God working in the life of believer to bless His church with spiritual gifts and authoritative roles in the body of Christ. God has called us to grow as believers and use discernment in a world filled with lies and deception. In order to use discernment, we must be like the Bereans as they searched the Scriptures daily to test the messages that they were hearing from the apostles. We are called to do the same today.
