As we are pressing on in our Ecclesiastes series, we come to the topic of the Sovereignty of God. Scripture teaches us that God has supreme power and authority over all creation. It implies that He is the ultimate ruler, the King of kings, and that nothing exists or happens outside of His will or permission. This includes His power over natural events, human affairs, and even the choices that individuals make. This does not mean that God sovereignly compels us to make evil choices, but it does mean that He sovereignly works and influences us to make the right choices. We must come to that place to where we understand that without God’s Word and God’s Spirit, we would most definitely still be lost in our sins.
